Man, what is it with these type of movies lately? I remember the days when action movies were often dumb and simplistic ones but at least I was able to understand what was going on and it had a clear main story in it. With this movie I have absolutely no idea who's who and what it's main story is supposed to be all about, which does in fact takes all of the fun out of it.

One hour in and I still have no clue who are supposed to be the good- and bad guys in this. Guess it's fair to say that everyone in this movie is a 'tough' bad guy, in their own way, which however raises the question; who are we supposed to cheer for and care about? Thing I also don't really understand is how all of these characters and their plot lines are supposed to be connected to each other. Instead of following one clear main plot line it's following a bunch of individual plot lines, each one involving one of the various different characters.

It's really hard to care for any of the characters in this, since none of them are really sympathetic enough and they are not really given a decent enough background. It's therefore also really hard to care for anything in general that is happening in the movie.

It's a real shame, since the movie honestly still is a technically well made one. It's a good looking one, with also a good pace to it and the action really isn't anything too bad to look at. It had the potential to at least work out as an enjoyable, fun, simple, straightforward action flick but due to its messy story and even messier storytelling it never becomes an even remotely good or fun movie to watch.

Seriously, the story and storytelling is so messy that I still, after having finished watching it, have absolutely no idea what the story was supposed to be all about. And it's not like I wasn't paying attention. I tried really hard but it's simply impossible to find anything that remotely resembles a story in this mess of a movie.

The movie probably will still seem interesting to some, due to the cast involved with it. Danny Trejo, Steven Seagal and Ving Rhames all in one movie? How can this not be good and fun to watch? Well, just trust me, it really isn't. No matter how big of a fan you are of either Steven Seagal, Ving Rhames and Danny Trejo, this movie is an absolutely terrible one to watch. I have to say though; normally Steven Seagal is always playing the same sort of characters but in this movie he's at least trying to do something different. Not that he's very good or successful at it but it's still good to see that he's trying to do something different for a change.

A good looking but incredibly messy action movie, that's a far from entertaining and engaging one.
