So Undercover (2012) Directed by Tom Vaughan
It's clear I'm not a part of the movie its target audience but to be
fair, I can still see this movie entertain those, to whom this movie
got targeted, which are 14-16 year old girls, or something close to
that.
As simple and incredibly straightforward as this movie is, it does serves its purpose well enough. There really isn't much to the story but I do believe that girls are still going to appreciate it, as well as its characters and situations. It puts a young girl, played by Miley Cyrus, in the lead and makes her the sort of action-hero-star of the movie. Not that the movie is spectacular in any way or is filled with action but I still believe that it's a strong, young, female character, that young girls look up to and want to be like.
Not that Miley Cyrus is all that great though. As weird as it may sound, she actually feels a too old for the part. She is just too mature looking and sounding to play a school girl, even though the plot still involves she is a detective, who's going undercover at a college, as a student.
It's actually amazing how incredibly bland and uninteresting the story was. To be frank, I even had absolutely no idea what it all was supposed to be about in the first place. But strangely enough this didn't made this movie an horrible one to watch. It's probably because the movie is a very tame and innocent movie, in which nothing ever gets annoying or exaggerated. Even the characters, comedy and dialog were all tolerable in this, which was something I didn't really expected from this movie.
It's not a great movie by any means but it still works out well within its genre is definitely a watchable one for, lets say, 14-16 year old girls.
