(Review originally written at 26 January 2004)

"Cat People" isn't necessarily an horror movie but more of a psychological thriller, meaning that it has little to none visual horror moments but more moments that let you use your imagination and make you think what is going on and what is driving the characters.

The movie is very stylish, thanks to the cinematography and the great use of light and dark and shadows.

The story however is not always well paced and at times there happens too much in a too short amount of time. It doesn't make the movie confusing but it does make the movie a bit uneasy to watch at times. On the other hand there are some truly brilliant horror/thriller moments and scene's which alone makes the movie more then worth to watch.

"Cat People" is original, innovating and stylish with a wonderful atmosphere which makes the movie a must see for the classic horror movie fans.
